Does anyone have experience working dogs that are back tied on a bungee line

im looking to improve a dogs first hit, and to teach the dog  "if you don't bite properly first time ..... You lose the bite"

We use bungees as stake out lines with dogs. We have used them with civil agitation as well as actual bite work. They do seem to help develop drive in the dog due to what you talked about with them having to get a good bite and work for it. We usually feel out how much stretch the dog can get out of the bungee for a little bit and then present the sleeve or suit JUST within range of them to get a good full-mouth bite. Once they are on the bite we usually hold them out at the bungee length for a bit to encourage them to stay on a good bite and not to take cheap chatter bites.

Working the dog in civil agitation with the bungee before allowing them any bites also really helps build drive and aggression. They are not the end-all, be-all tool for everything, but they do have a place.
